sense of Leonardo's genius is that it tended toward the
practical,
rather than the philosophical.
Typical day: Morning, oversaw construction of
fortifications.
Afternoon, invented parachute. Evening, went to tavern.
Why not concentrate on the sheer inventiveness
that is so much a part of L's legacy?
